Poetry: Caitlin Dwyer, Christy Lee Barnes, and Melissa Poulin

  • Rose City Book Pub 1329 Northeast Fremont Street Portland, OR, 97212 United States (map)

Celebrating the release of Caitlin Dwyer’s In the Salt, which won the 2025 Sally Albiso Award from MoonPath Press. In the Salt mingles two cycles of poems. One focuses on the mythical figure of Penelope, wife of Odysseus, who is afflicted with nightmares that reveal to her monstrous revisions to the story of The Odyssey. The second poem cycle revolves around the severe illness and near-death of an infant boy, whose mother watches herself transform, slowly, through grief and longing. Both cycles explore tensions between domesticity and wildness, a longing for stability and the unconscious desire for change.

Readings also by Christy Lee Barnes of Seattle, author of Commodore Rookery, and Melissa Poulin, author of Rupture, Light and Winged: An Anthology on Bees.
